WORKSHOPS FOR ALL
Workshops are essential in the non-traditional educational world such as 4-H. These workshops help youth develop real-world skills they will need to become the leaders of tomorrow. Through these workshops, youth have the opportunity to learn through a variety of hands on activities in a positive environment where they receive guidance from adult mentors and are encouraged to take on proactive leadership roles. Science programs provide youth the opportunity to learn about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) through fun, hands-on activities, and projects.
Below you will find a variety of STEM-related workshops that I have been trained to teach. Find a workshop your youth would like?
Let's get in touch!
Makey Makey
The workshop can take 1-2 hours in length.
Ready to start inventing?
Start out easy with a banana piano. Then create game controllers, invent musical instruments, make voting machines, and light up paper circuits. Connect Makey Makey to the world of things around you, and the possibilities are endless!
Lego Robotics
The workshop can be 1-2 hours in length.
The 4‑H robotics program inspires young people and develops an early interest in robotics engineering and technology.
Sphero BOLTÂ and Sphero RVR Cars (robotics and coding)
The workshop can be designed to be from 1- 4 hours in length.
Designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, and invention through connected play and coding, BOLT is far more than just a robot. BOLT is Sphero’s most advanced coding robotic ball to date, providing even more ways to express inventive ideas and experience the power of programming. Packed with plenty of programmable sensors and a colorful LED light matrix, Sphero BOLT is paving the way for the next generation of coders.
RVR is made for makers, hackers, coders – and you. Sphero’s revolutionary take on what it means to be programmable, this all-terrain robot is built for customization. Code with it, build on it, and hack the robot of your dreams. With RVR, you can go anywhere and do anything.
Coding Unlimited
The workshop can be 1-4 hours in length.
There is a tremendous need for young people to know how to create technology, not just consume it. This is true across every industry, and that’s why 4-H computer science programs help prepare youth for college and career by teaching technical programming skills in languages like Scratch, Python, and Java alongside essential life skills like problem-solving, teamwork, and resiliency.
NASA STEM Forward to the Moon
The workshop can be designed to be from 1- 2 hours in length.
Are you ready to take flight and land on the moon? Planning and preparing for a mission to the Moon can be quite a challenge. Participants will learn about NASA’s Apollo Mission and how they plan to land the first woman and the next man on the surface of the Moon in 2024. 4-H’ers will participate in hands-on activities that will generate creative thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving.
Wonders of Water
The workshop can be designed to be from 1- 2 hours in length.
Our planet's water isn’t a non-renewable recourse. Come explore the wonders of water though science and hands-on activities that will teach youth the importance of conservation. This workshop will dive deep into the water cycle and how global warming is affecting our environment and the future of our world.
Exploring Solar Systems and Beyond
The workshop can be designed to be from 1- 2 hours in length.
5…4…3…2…1…BLAST OFF! Hop onboard the 4-H spaceship as we travel through space! Participants will learn about the solar system, astronomy, and how the moon actually contributes to the survival of many ecosystems here on Earth. 4-H’ers will experience hands-on activities that will help them to learn more about space and beyond.
